Jean Batis, you are misinformed if you think Aristide is the only obstacle to progress in Haiti.I think you have expressed some narrow minded thoughts in that respect.
Haiti finds itself in this chaotic situation because of our division and foreign pression to privatize of public assets blindly without provisions.
Do you recall what happened to our rice and sugar industry once they were privatized.
Since the opening bid was to high, a foreign entity won the bid, and immediately close shops, fired all haitians, and started importing cheap rice and sugar from miami.
I am not a aristide supporter, and never was, but I respect one's stance and right to be a aristide supporter, and I do not believe a aristide supporter is automatically a chimere.
Even though I did not support aristide in any way or form, but I believe Haiti's constitution was violated when he did not finish his term. I am certain we all can agree that Aristide was duly elected in 1991, and Cedras and Co. raped the constitution.
To me Cedras and co. has caused more harm to Haiti than Aristide.
In 2000, Apaid call aristide on his cell, and told him to either rescind the minimum wage law or postpon the presidential election until january 2001 in order for him to get a candidate ready who will rescind the minimum wage law.
When aristide refused, apaid told him and I quote "you just mortgaged Haiti", and soon enough the aristide government was embargoed to the teeth, and the us embassy strictly forbid the opposition to negotiate with aristide regardless of the compromised..
