Army

I also told you that ever since the massacre of 1937, the old army and the macoutes never took to the Dominicans lightly whereas they would even cross bordertowns to exact revenge on Dominican soldiers if something was done to their own, I am not saying that it makes either side right, but at least it shows that since 1937 Haitians have become less passive towards the Dominicans as far as abuse goes, I also forgot to tell you that the Dominicans were also very weary of the haitian army's elite troop, the "Corps des Leopards", which they believed and feared was able to occupy Dominican territory in a matter of hours.

As for if the "Corps des Leopards" could actually occupy Dominican territory as easily is a mystery to me, but I am certain that the Dominicans were not willing to risk finding it out.
