Haiti Elections Archives 2005

THINK ABOUT THIS?

JAN BATIS, YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT THE CONSTITUTION DID NOT TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THE LIKEHOOD OF HAVING 32 CANDIDATES.

IT IS POSSIBLE FOR A CANDIDATE WITH EXACTLY 50% OF THE VOTE TO GO IN A RUN-OFF WITH 50 OTHER GUYS WHO EXACTLY HAVE 1%.

WOULDN'T THAT BE RIDICULOUS ? THAT SHOWS, SOMEHOW, THE FRAMERS OF OUR CONSTITUTION WEREN'T THAT BRIGHT.
THEY WERE TRYING TO COPY FROM WESTERN SOCIETIES, BUT AS USUAL THEY COPIED OUT OF CONTEXT.IN WESTERN SOCIETIES, THEY DO NOT GENERALLY HAVE SO MANY CANDIDATES, SO THE 50% PLUS 1 ADDITIONAL VOTE APPOPRIATES THEIR DEMOCRACY, WHEREAS IN HAITI IT CAN POTENTIALLY NEGATE DEMOCRACY AS I HAVE DEMONSTRATED_ ONE GUY WITH 50% CAN GO TO A RUN-OFF WITH 50 OTHER CANDIDATES WITH 1% EACH.
