~=(part 29 of 50)--

The question everyboy is asking, why so many candidates are running for president of Haiti? Is it the only way that they can serve their country?

I have selected a few to opinionate about: Rene Preval, Charles Baker, Marc Bazin, Evans Paul, Leslie Manigat, Dumarsais Simeus (no longer running), Guy Philippe, Samir Mourra (no longer running), and Danny Toussaint.

Let's take a brief look at these individuals and see the talents, skills, and experiences that are in abundances in these folks.

RENE PREVAL: Former President, former Prime Minister, former Minister of Interior and Defense under President Aristide.

CHARLES BAKER:Businessman, held several managerial positions, has a degree in Business Administration, former soccer player, black belt/first dan in karate.

MARC BAZIN: Former World Bank official, former U.N. functionary, acting Prime Minister under a coup goverment headed by Raoul Cedras, Minister of Finance and Economy under Jean-Claude Duvalier.

.
EVANS PAUL: Former Mayor of Port-au-Prince, activist, Ex-lavalassien, Theatrical artist.

LESLIE MANIGAT: 36th President under Namphy, studied at the Sorbonne, has a doctorate degree.

DUMARSAIS SIMEUS (no longer running): Businessman, owns business worth 2 billion dollars, earned degree from Howard University.

GUY PHILIPPE: Did his study at Saint Louis de Gonzague, Ex Commander of the police force, studied at Quito in Ecuator at the Academia Superior de Policia Alberto Eriquez Gallo, spent time in Dominican Republic, Mexico, and U.S.A.

SAMIR MOURRA (no longer running): Businessman, was running for president under "Mobilization for the Progress of Haiti".

DANNY TOUSSAINT: Ex Major of the Haitian Armed Forces, Senator, black belt in karate.

It's obvious that Rene Preval is the most qualified to be Haiti's next President.

Preval achieved something that even President Aristide never achieved - that is completing his full 4-years term as President.

Preval is not as charismatic as President Aristide; however, he is a more moderate figure.

Preval is the man for the job at a time when Haiti is in dire need of a proven leader.

I have great respect for Simeus.

As far as Baker, it's time for him to swallow his pride.

He'll vever become President of Haiti.

Marc Bazin is a very smart and experienced man, but his past continues to haunt him.

Evans Paul had a good beginning; however, instead of showing political maturity, he let political ambition drive him to betray his country like the other Greedy Vampires.

Leslie Manigat impressed everyone when he was president.

He was an action oriented person who started to got result.

The presidential elections that brought Manigat in power remains questionable up to today.

Had Manigat stayed longer in power, he could have done a lot of good things for Haiti.

Political ambition has also blinded him to the point where he has become irrational.

Guy Philippe is a brillant young man who chose to be the enemy of the Haitian people.

As you know there are several published articles that link Guy Philippe to drug trafficking and his recent involvement in murdering his Haitians brothers and sisters during the coup.

A lot of wasted talents.

Imagine these folks had really loved Haiti as they claim, they would have put the interest of Haiti and its people first.
