Elections Count Down. 9 Days to Go - by G. Simon

COUNT DOWN 9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1

(9 days to go)

I have started a new series entitled "Elections Count Down.#..days to go" I will count down until the last day February 7. I will give advice in order to make the elections less bloody, preferably not bloody at all because unabated and insatiable thirst for power can turn a human beings into monters.

Baker should stop making inflamatory remarks such as he will never accept Preval as president.

Baker should also stop making promises to the disbanded Haitian army that he is going to reinstate the army if elected.

This kind of comments will definitely incite the disbanded army to commit act of violence and terrorism on the Haitian population.

Preval can create jobs for the disbanded army.

Baker & Co should respect the result of the elections.

It is evident that Preval will win in a free and fair election in Haiti.

Haitians are ready to return to Haiti to invest, to vacation.

Tourists will return. I have friends from all over the world who would be more than happy to visit Haiti.

Billions of dollars are waiting to be poured in the Haitian economy.

If Baker is a responsible leader, he should not pour more gas on the fire.

Bakers's rethorics lately can contribute to a bloodshed before the elections that are scheduled for February 7.

While it is healthy in a democracy to have debates, and even heated debates and dissents, we can still get a long as a civilized society.

Coming tomorrow "Count Down -- 8 Days to Go"

G. Simon
