So far everything that I have read about the treaty has to do with the Haitian Police force.
The Haitain Police has become much more corrupt after the last coup against Aristide.
Even the current head of the Haitian Police Fore aknowledges that 25% of the Police Force are involved in drug trafficking.
It's a good thing to have the police force under international supervision while it's being reformed and professionalized.
Since I haven't read the entire treaty, I reserve the right to change my mind. But so far I don't see any reason why people are questioning Haiti's sovereignty.
Latortue didn't question Haiti's sovereignty after the kidnapping of Aristide.
Latortue didn't question Haiti's sovereignty when he was handpicked and parachuted to Haiti by foreign powers.
Anyway, all Haitians have the rights to debate this issue.
We can continue to have heated debate here, but don't let them divide you. Be careful.
