Let me tell you why Manigat might be the wrong choice: He's 75 years old, he may die before he finishes his term. That is not my wish but no one can escape death especially at his age. So his probable death may disrupt the democratic process if he can't finish his term. We don't need any disruption anymore unless the president is a dangerous autocrate like Aristide (which of course Manigat would never be because he knows better). So, we need a man that may not be as knowledgeable as Manigat but who is younger and shares the same thirst for real change and decency as Manigat's. That's why I opt for Baker because he's young, devoted, strong, wise, open-minded, and can rally the whole country behind him by his actions and strategic alliances in his government. But Manigat can be a very good Prime Minister though. If he dies, he can be replaced without any disruption to the political process.
