No to army because: 1)it's going to absorb too much scarce and precious resource 2) there is no use for it. We've never been at war with anyone for almost 2 centuries. Who's gonna attack us? Dominican Republic? They can't afford it either and for what? We have no mine or resources they would like to steal. Uncle Sam would have taken it himself. We need good schools, and universities, a good, well-trained, disciplined corpes of police to assure peace like in Costa Rica and compete with other countries to obtain work for our workforce. Any army in any poor country that cannot afford to fight a day of war is useful but for corruption and repression
