Mr. Saint Preux, My name is Mitchy Derose. I am in total agreement with you. My issues on this matter are far and many. As an American who loves my Haitian heritage, I have often been shut down and shut out because of my citizenship. I am an aspiring author and I have often had to reflect twice before expressing myself because again, there are those elders who feel I am not Haitian enough. I think you have pointed out a very disturbing problem in our culture.
