Simeus, Determined and OptimisticIn a letter to Carl's Corner - www.fombrun.com - Simeus says that his plans is for his political party to have a strong presense in the Haitian Parliament.
Here is the letter:
Dear Friends,
Just a note to let you know that we are still moving forward toward our goal to make a difference in Haiti. We have not given up on getting our name on the list. On Friday, November 25, our legal team served the CEP a sommation (summons) demanding that they adhere to the decision of the Cour de Cassation, the Supreme Court of Haiti, and my name on the definitive list.
Meanwhile, I am working with the team to support the 1,200+ senators, deputies, mayors and other local candidates registered under the Tet Ansanm banner. It is important that Tet Ansanm have a strong presence in the parliament. We are talking to many of the political parties and discussing possible alliances. However, we will be faithful to the goals we set forth to change Haiti.
We are determined and optimistic. We will not give up. We will change Haiti so that our less fortunate brothers and sisters will have jobs, food and can send their children to school. We will change Haiti so that we will no longer hear our motherland described as the "poorest country in the Western Hemisphere."
Kenbe fèm,
Dumarsais Siméus
