Dumarsais Simeus is a son of the Artibonite soil, where the best things grow. The first son of twelve children born to illiterate, peasant farmers,he spent his childhood in Pont-Sonde, working in the rice and tomato fields alongside his 11 brothers and sisters.
Though his parents could not read or write, they worked hard and always managed to put food on the table. Through them, Dumarsais learned Haitian values of work, family, God and neighbors helping neighbors. His father, mother, brothers, sisters and neighbors, inspired him to dream of a better life for his family.
As a young man, Dumarsa is looked at Haiti with his Haitian values and saw a great country with great values, people and culture . . .
but with no opportunities for a son of the Artibonite Valley. So he went out in the world with his Haitian values of work, family, God and neighbors helping neighbors and built his dream so he could bring home a better life for his family.
Dumarsais earned degrees from Howard University of Chicago School of Business and used his education to head TLC Beatrice Foods, a $2 billion global company based in Latin America.
Then in 1996, Dumarsais Simeus finally captured the dream he first had more than 50 years earlier as a young boy in Pont-Sonde, founding Simeus Foods International, Inc., which today, he has built into one of the largest Haitian-owned, black-owned businesses in the world . . .
putting food on the table for people around the globe.
Throughout his journey, Dumarsais Simeus never forgot where he came from, his Haitian values and the people who helped him achieve his dreams.
In 1999 he founded The Simeus Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping his neighbors in Pont Sonde.For nearly four decades now, helped create new jobs and improve the overall quality of life for the citizens of Pont-Sonde. .
Now more than ever, Haiti needs a new leader with our Haitian values... work, family, God and neighbors helping neighbors.
A leader that will build a strong , stable and successful Haitian democracy from the ground up, so our sons and daughters can built their own Haitian dream, right here at home
